MAHARASHTRA STATE COMMON ENTRANCE TEST
(MHT-CET)
The Government of Maharashtra has established “ADMISISON REGULATING AUTHORITY AND STATE COMMON ENTRANCE TEST CELL” as per the provisions of the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions & Fees) Act. 2015 (Mah. Act No.XXVIII of 2015), (herein after the Act).
MHT-CET Entrance Examination for Admission to Professional Courses in Engineering/ Technology, Pharmacy and Agricultural Education through State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai for every academic year will be held at the various examination canters within and outside Maharashtra State.
The candidate seeking admission to First Year Engineering and Technology degree courses, it is mandatory that the candidate must appear for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).
The candidate seeking admission to First Year Pharmacy/ Pharm. D degree course it is mandatory that the candidate must appear for Physics, Chemistry as well as Mathematics and/ or Biology
The candidates will have choice of appearing any one or both examination. The group wise schedule will be shared with the candidate later on. The option once exercised will not be altered under any condition.
Eligibility:
(1) Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates –
(i) The Candidate should be an Indian National;
(ii) Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Agriculture or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies and obtained at least 45 % marks (at least 40 % marks, in case of Backward Class categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability category candidates belonging to Maharashtra State) in the above subjects taken together; and should obtain non zero positive score in JEE (Main) B.E./B.Tech or the candidate should have appeared in all the subjects in CET and should obtain non zero score in CET conducted by the Competent Authority. However preference shall be given to the candidate obtaining non zero positive score in JEE (Main) B.E./B.Tech over the candidates who obtained non zero score in CET
Syllabus:
The questions will be based on Syllabus of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
Weightage and Pattern of Examination:
Approximately 20% weightage will be given to Std. XI curriculum and 80% weightage will be given to Std. XII curriculum while setting the question paper.
There will be no Negative Marking, however difficulty level will be at par with the JEE (Main) for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and difficulty level for Biology will be at par with NEET. The questions will be mainly application based.
MHT-CET 2022 generally consists of 3 question paper of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) and each paper will be of 100 marks, Details are as given below:
